Successful completion of the ISO 9001:2008 surveillance audit

May 1, 2014— Announcing today, the successful completion of the ISO 9001:2008 surveillance audit at Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. (the “Company”).

The audit, conducted by an independent registrar from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) demonstrates that Integrated Service Solutions has a robust and mature quality management system. Key attributes of ISO focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. These characteristics define the organizational structure of Integrated Service Solutions.

Numerous infrastructure improvements were made in the past year to meet business challenges, enhance service to customers, improve operations and enhance communication with field personnel. Those include:

  • Launch of the Certificate Management System (CMS). This electronic database provides customers easy access to their calibration records via a password protected, encrypted web site.
  • Expansion of the field service team that includes an ISA Level III trained technician as well as developing a training program to mentor junior technicians.
  • Added additional departmental resources such as a Quality Assurance Manager, another customer service administrator and a software developer.
  • Reinvested in test equipment including the purchase of the SURETEST Torque Calibration system. This instrument expands the Company’s torque calibration capabilities for torque wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Launched Live Chat on the Company web site for quicker, personalized customer service.
  • Developed a company Intranet as a means for immediate communication to all employees.

May marks the Company’s 16th year in business. This latest accomplishment of the annual ISO audit verifies the entire company is committed to service excellence.

Torque Calibration Capabilities

April 1, 2014 — Announcing the SURETEST Torque Calibration system, a laboratory grade instrument, expanding the A2LA accredited torque calibration capabilities for torque wrenches and screwdrivers at Integrated Service Solutions, Inc.

Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. (the “Company), is an ISO 9001:2008 registered company with an A2LA 17025 accreditation to perform specific calibration tasks, the Company regularly provides their nationwide customer base with continuous quality improvements. As a result, Integrated Service Solutions made the investment in a laboratory grade instrument that calibrates torque equipment from 4 In. Lbs. up to 600 Ft. Lbs. It has an accuracy of +/- .25% of indicated value and is individually serialized with a matching certificate of calibration traceable to N.I.S.T.

Joseph Uricchio, President/CEO said, “increasing customer demand necessitated that we make the investment in equipment that allows us to calibrate a wider range of torque equipment.”Torque calibrations are performed either on-site or in the Company’s climate-controlled Metrology Lab by technicians with advanced knowledge and skill levels. All torque tools are inspected and cleaned before being calibrated.

Electronic calibration documents include complete As Found and As Left data at no additional charge. In addition, any findings such as if the instrument had to be adjusted to pass calibration are noted in the comments section of the report. To complement the electronic documentation, all calibration stickers are bar coded. These durable, thermal printed labels eliminate human error, ensure data accuracy and are easy to read.

Announcing Expansion of Quality Assurance Team

March 26, 2014— Announcing the expansion of Quality Assurance Team, adding Lisa Myles, Manager, Quality Assurance, to its quality team bringing the total to nine.

Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. (the “Company) announced today the hiring of Lisa Myles, Manager, Quality Assurance.

In response to the increase in the number of customer audits and the rapid expansion of customers requiring quality support, the Company recruited and hired a tenured quality professional to manage and execute the Company’s quality system programs. This expands the quality staff to nine (9).

As an ISO 9001:2008 registered company with an A2LA 17025 accreditation to perform specific calibration tasks, the company has an obligation to its nationwide customer base for continuous quality improvements. As a result, Integrated Service Solutions saw an immediate need to bring on board another dedicated resource.

Joseph Uricchio, President/CEO said, “Lisa brings more than 12 years of experience including A2LA 17025 audit knowledge and training programs management. Her background in international compliance for regulated industries is a perfect match to our customer base. Lisa’s experience includes the start-up and accreditation for a Pennsylvania-based contract testing laboratory. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified Quality Auditor from ASQ.

Announcing Browser Applications for Mobile Devices

March 3, 2014— Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. announced today the release of custom designed browser applications allowing customers easy access to view electronic calibration reports on mobile devices.

In February, the Company officially launched their GenCal II™ Certificate Management System. This custom designed database is now optimized for the growing mobile device market.

Catherine Peetros, Director of Operations said, “Earlier this year, our in-house IT group designed an easy-to-use interface and a centralized, searchable database to store, view and retrieve electronic certificates. Now they’ve enhanced this product  by adding more flexibility.  This latest addition of value added services for our customers includes a browser application allowing them to view their electronic documents on mobile devices such as tablets, the iPhone and Droid devices.”

George Fenzil, Director of IT added, “This system gives an authorized QA representative at a customer site the ability to spot check equipment calibration records with an iPhone or iPad.  This convenient and quick access to electronic documents makes it easy to pull up electronic records by scanning the bar coded label. It’s another way to differentiate our services and provide our customers with the latest in technology.”

To ensure the integrity of the data, the platform uses multiple layers of security such as; Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, password protection, a company-owned and managed firewall and other state of the art technologies. Customers request login credentials and all logins and downloads are recorded with a timestamp, user id and IP address.

“Providing our client base with a well organized document management system, ensures that they have ready access to all of their electronic documents in the event of an FDA or client audit and helps reduce administrative overhead for them,” added Peetros.

Adding to the roster of the cargo Chevy Van and crossover SUV Honda Elements is the brand new Nissan nv200 van. This compact cargo van is car-based with practicality and gas mileage in mind.

“We have a robust service business where we pick up and deliver customer equipment to and from our Metrology lab for calibration, said Catherine Peetros,” Director of Business Development. “Having this personalized service ensures that sensitive test and measurement instruments are handled with care. Adding another fuel-efficient service vehicle expands our capacity and provides our customers with personalized service.”

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited continued through April 2015

October 1, 2013— Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. announced today that they are approved for continued as well as an expanded scope of accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). The Metrology Laboratory is now accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 through April 30, 2015.

While there are many commonalities with ISO 9001:2008, which the Company has held for the past nine years, ISO/IEC 17025:2005 applies directly to Metrology Laboratories that produce testing and calibration results.

“ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is an internationally recognized standard that is used to evaluate laboratories worldwide, said Catherine Peetros,” Director of Business Development. “Having this accreditation is a benefit to our customers. They understand that our laboratory is technically competent and that we routinely participate in proficiency testing programs to demonstrate accurate calibration data.”

Maintaining the prestigious ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is directly related to the quality management system within a laboratory. A prerequisite to qualification is to have a documented quality management system already in place. The comprehensive assessment conducted by A2LA addressed the competence of the staff, an inspection of the facility, a review of calibration procedures, analysis of traceability and an appraisal of the methodologies used as well as the calibration equipment.

Laboratories use ISO/IEC 17025 to implement a quality system aimed at improving their ability to consistently produce valid results and since the standard is about competence, accreditation is a formal recognition of that competence.

Accreditation by nationally recognized organizations provides customers with confidence in calibration reports and traceability. In addition, an unbiased assessment of a laboratory’s standards and procedures provides an impartial viewpoint as to how a laboratory functions. September 4, 2013—Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. announced today the introduction of Live Chat on their web site. “The ability to talk with a live person through our web site is a stand out feature,” said Catherine Peetros, Director of Business Development. “Many times during the live chat, we direct the customer to specific pages on our web site and we can view, in real time, as they navigate the pages. This gives the ability to interact with the customers, quickly answer their questions and increase customer satisfaction. It adds the vital personal touch.”

Live chat is becoming more and more commonplace on websites as they look to differentiate themselves and provide customers with an engaging experience. Many people surveyed said they dislike waiting around for replies to emails. Instead, they are looking for real-time answers to questions.
